Position

The Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer faculty position with a 9-month academic appointment. Additionally, if enrolment trends necessitate, teaching duties may be required during the 10-week summer session for extra compensation. The occupant of this position will be expected to devote up to 100% effort to teaching. This is a renewable position with an opportunity for advancement in the lecturer track going from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer to Principal Lecturer.

Responsibilities

Primary teaching responsibilities will focus on delivering writing-intensive courses that are discipline specific to the Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) undergraduate students. The BIMS program—one of the largest majors at Texas A&M University—is designed to give students a strong foundation in the biomedical sciences that allows them to pursue professional and graduate school programs, as well as careers in biomedical fields.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold at least a B.S. in a field relevant to the biomedical sciences. An advanced degree in science journalism or a related discipline, while not required, would be highly desirable. Candidates should have a clear record of undergraduate teaching excellence, a strong familiarity with the delivery of writing-intensive course instruction, and a passion for teaching.

Salary

Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
